Plant community at 13,000′ on San Luis Peak in Colorado
We look to the natural world for inspiration.
Because native plant communities and great gardens have key features in common:
- They are low-maintenance, drought-tolerant and naturally gorgeous.
- They are healthy when the soil and soil food web are healthy.
- They provide nourishment for co-inhabitants of their environment.
- They can teach us a lot about the diversity of life and our interdependence with all living things.
Plant community by Artemis Gardens design
Our approach to gardening is organic and holistic. Because we start with the soil – testing, building, protecting – the plants we provide (from a network of local, trusted nurseries) have a very high survival rate. Our knowledge of a diverse plant palette goes beyond the ordinary to create beautiful and enduring gardens.
